Robert Dennis Callahan, age 79, of Warren passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, July 17, 2020.

Bob was born in Warren on June 22, 1941, the oldest son of the late Dennis O. and Gaynell (Strane) Callahan.

He was a 1960 graduate of Warren High School and a lifetime resident of the Warren area.
Bob had a 16 year career at Autobody Collision, with expertise in automobile painting. He was employed at Betts Industries as a van driver for 25 years, retiring in 2007.

He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, spending time reloading precise ammunition, and took pride in a well-mowed lawn. He was a long-time member of the National Rifle Association.

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy L. Callahan, son, Dennis S. (Heather) Callahan, brother, Knuten (Diane) Callahan, sister, Mary Sheets, sister-in-laws, Violet Callahan and Susan (Jerry) Barton, brother-in-law, William (Kathy) Dunham and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Callahan, in 2019, his uncle, Dr. Harlan (Ted) Strane in 1968, his brother-in-law, Ralph Dunham and his in-laws, Shelby and Violet Dunham.

Limited visitation will be observed, in accordance with CDC guidelines, on Saturday, July 25 from 11-12pm at Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 North Main St., Youngsville, PA. A funeral service will be held there at 12 pm with Rev. Michael Sperry, officiating.

I , am so very sorry for your loss , Nancy & Dennis . My hope is that you & Dennis stay strong and be able to lean on each other . Bob, was a good man and he holds a place in my heart that will never leave , I know how hard it is to. lose someone you love more than anything . I hope you both can find peace in knowing thatBob was a man of Faith , and in Heaven with Shadow , Belle, & Charlie.
No matter the circumstances Nancy , I am here if you need to talk . we always had some good one as I did with your loving husband. Your still very special to me.
