Charles “Jack” Schell, 79, of Sugar Grove, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Warren General Hospital due to complications from COPD.

Jack was born January 10th,1941 in Torpedo, PA to the late Glenn and Jean (Swanson) Schell. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County where he worked on numerous farms. He also worked at Torpedo Wire and then moved onto Associated Springs where he was a Tool and Die set up man and ultimately retired from there. During this time he enjoyed raising beef cattle.  In his younger years, he was very involved in helping with Jim Scotts dirt track racing team. Jack enjoyed woodworking, and being partners with his sons dirt track racing team, he also enjoyed watching the birds and all of the critters in his back yard.  

Jack is survived by his sons, Gordon (Dianne Graham) Schell, of Sugar Grove, Ward (Betsy) Schell of Warren, a step daughter Missy (Dean) Elder of Fairview, PA,  a sister Glenna Upton of Spring Creek, his grandchildren, Stephanie (Dave Eichenlaub) Kuzminski, Sebrina (Bill) Johnson, Jessica (Marc) Bush, Amanda Elder, Andrew (Tonya) Moore, Dustin (Amanda) Schell, Starrlene (Chris) Wilson and Rachel Graham; his great grandchildren, Scott Bayle, Hunter Moore, Devan, Araya and Maeleigh Wilson, Makenzie, Madison, and Jeremy Stinebiser, Draven Kuzminski, Darren and Brandon Geiger, and Lillian and Jacob Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother Forest (Cork) Schell and Brother in law, Robert Upton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2pm at the family home, 363 Deer Run Road, Sugar Grove, Pa 16351, with Pastor Tim Olsen, of the Garland Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the COPD Foundation at copdfoundation.org.

ward and gord you are in my thoughts and prayers . Uncle Jack will be miss by all that know him and by the ones that loved him He was a great man and a wonderful uncle if not for him i might not be driving today . until we meet again uncle jack and tell dad we love him

I want to express my condolences to the entire Schell Family for the loss of Jack. He was my neighbor and friend. I enjoyed his friendship and his terrific sense of humor. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

Missy, Gord, and Ward,

Please accept my heart felt condolences during this difficult time. Jack treated Missy very well and was always very decent to me. He had a good heart and was a good man.

May your sorrows soon be replaced with the fond memories that you shared with him.
